Mayweather vs Mosley
“Yep, I’m better than Muhammad Ali! Sugar Ray Robinson? Yep, I’m better than Sugar Ray Robinson! I would never say it’s another fighter better than me. Absolutely none,” boasted the confident and brash Floyd Mayweather Jr. on the latest episode of 24/7 Mayweather vs Mosley. Say what? Better than Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson? It’s true that all fighters should be confident and feel as though no one can beat them, however, those feelings are generally reserved for fighters that are still actively fighting. - Mayweather vs Mosley
“I truly believe I’m the best. I know I’m the best. I gotta be a damn fool to give this sport 33 years of my life to say there’s another fight better than me,” he would try to explain. One would think that every fighter would show respect for the all-time greats, but not Floyd Mayweather. Evidently, his talents transcend the abilities of those that paved the way before him. The irony is that Floyd strives to be considered the best “pound for pound” fighter in the world, a term that was created for Sugar Ray Robinson, the very man that Mayweather claims to better than.
If he’s so good, perhaps Mayweather should come up with his own term! I’ve got a few terms that come to mind, but none of them have anything to do with his boxing skills. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Let us know in the comments below. - Mayweather vs Mosley
